Matthew R. Casciano, III, 50, a resident of West Scranton died suddenly on Thursday October 23 after a lingering illness. Born in Scranton, Matt was the son of the late Matthew R. Casciano, Jr. and Eileen Donahue Casciano Goscinski and her husband Paul Goscinski, Scranton. Matt was a graduate of WS HS, Class of 1993, and was always a talented fixer, jack of all trades, who after graduation worked as a painter and laborer in the construction field. Matt was a proud veteran of the Marines, an outdoorsman who loved golf, hiking, Notre Dame and his Steelers and most of all his daughters and family.
In addition to his mother and step-father Matt is survived by his daughters Kiersten Casciano and her significant other Anthony Ricci, Peckville, Cammi Casciano and her fiancé Lorenzo Saavedra, Peckville, and Peyton Casciano, Clarks Summit and step son Jared Vols, Archbald; grandchildren Amelia and Bayleigh Saavedra; sister Kelly DeRosa and her husband Kevin, Yardly, Grandmother Ann Marie Boylan Donahue Clarke, Clarks Summit and niece Rachel Jones and nephew Reese Jones, Yardley.
Matt was preceded in death by his father, Grandfather Eugene Donahue and Uncle Eugene Donahue.
A Mass and celebration of Matt’s life to be held at St. Patrick’s Church, 1403 Jackson St., Scranton, PA 18504 on Tuesday November 4th, 2025, with family greeting friends from 10 until time of Mass at 11:00 AM celebrated by Rev. Richard Fox with internment to follow at Cathedral Cemetery. In keeping with Matt’s desires, he was cremated. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Donahue Funeral Home, 303 S.
