Elizabeth “Liz” Jones Sariti, of North Scranton and later Lutherwood Apartments died early Sunday after an illness. Born in Scranton, Liz was the daughter of the late Milton and Gladace Bohner Jones and a graduate of Scranton Central HS.
A member of the Catholic community Liz attended Mary Mother of God Parish, was an avid reader who loved fine dining and a very popular and active member of the Lutherwood community where she loved her Monday night Pokémon games.
She was a hard working single mom who always did her best including working prior to her retirement in production at Tobyhanna. With Liz the welfare of others was always her first priority and all who knew and loved her will miss her dearly.
Surviving are her son Justin Seriti, Scranton, grandchildren Giavonni and Ryon; Great grandson Damion: sister Marylou McDonald and her husband Bob; nieces Lisa Cook and her husband Scott, Angel Gutierrez, and Tracy Gargus and her husband Jason; great niece Lauren; great nephews Josh and Mathew and her many lifelong friends Carolyn Timlin, Judy Bear, Sandy Shaka and Kathy Gavin being some of the closest.
Liz was preceded in death by her brother Richard (Dick) Jones.
The family will greet friends at the Donahue Funeral Home, 303 South Main Avenue, Scranton, PA 18504 on Wednesday from 4:00 until 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 AM at Mary Mother of God Church, 316 Williams St., Scranton, PA 18508. Those planning to attend the funeral mass on Thursday should proceed directly to the Church.
