1945 – 2025
Arthur J. Driscoll, 79, of Scranton, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at home on Wednesday May 28, 2025. Arthur and his loving wife Mary Neely Driscoll celebrated their 56 wedding anniversary in April.
Born in Scranton he was the son of late Arthur D. and Genevieve Trout Driscoll, a graduate of West Scranton HS, Class of 1963 and a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Scranton. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Penn Security Bank and worked at PNC.
Arthur enjoyed a love for fishing and sports, especially the NY Jets and cherished the time he spent with his wife and family. He will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor and infectious laughter.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter Tammy Smith, Scranton; sister Ann Sweeney, Avoca; grandchildren Brittany Warman and her husband Eric, Scranton and Zachary Smith, Scranton; great grandchildren Sophia, Mason, Benjamin, Riley and Jeffery; two nephews and was preceded in death by his son David Arthur Driscoll, sisters Lucille Frost and Joyce Driscoll and grandchild Sara Smith.
A celebration of Arthur’s life will be held on Friday, June 6th from 4 to 6 PM at the Donahue Funeral Home, 303 S Main Ave., Scranton, PA 18504 [www.scrantonfuneralservices.com] with services at the Funeral Home at 6 PM celebrated by Father Richard Fox, St. Patrick’s Church, Scranton.
In keeping with Arthur’s wishes cremation was selected and internment will follow at the Cathedral cemetery at a later date.
